Someone contacted me about taking in an adult female black and white... so I said why not? lol
Shes 3yrs old, super mellow and tame (yay I can use her for educational shows!) About 8 months ago she became ill with a gastrointestinal bacterial infection, she was put on baytril, and then she was having difficulty passing food through her system due to the bacterial illness. This caused her to strain herself, which led to a slight prolapse-which was fixed and then sutured closed temporary, but she is fully recovered and healthy now! Needless to say the previous owner is away at college and his parents have been taking care of her and wanted her to go to someone tegu experienced and she found her way to me!
Shes coming with her enclosure which is only 5ft so my hubby will be making her a "big girl" enclosure.... I'm hoping that after proper quarantine and introduction my big boy Rex will like his new girlfriend.

Laurafl, I noticed she has the orange belly like your girl does... Does anyone know what causes that or is it just regular coloration on some?

Here she is settled into her new home.... She came with her cage but I made a few changes. She had a 100w power sun with no raised basking area and it was not hot enough at all.... So I added a cinder block and even then it was only at 97degrees so I put in a 125w halogen flood since she already has a 36in florescent bulb and that put her basking at 120.

Her illness is completely gone, that was 8 months ago and her owner took very good care of her (with the except of the wrong basking temps) he said how she has been very sleepy and has refused food for a little over a week now... Yesterday I got her to take one medium sized piece of beef heart with some enticing but she snubbed her nose at every thing else including a f/t mouse that I had cut open a little bit. she sniffed it, then turned and walked away... Now I know she just got her so shes still settling it but since shes in her normal cage shes not overally stressed, it was a short car ride... Shes not even that sleepy, shes up cruising around and acting like a normal healthy gu but just has no appetite... hopefully a few days at the correct basking spot will get her eating! Im not too worried yet.... since its only day #2 of her here and she isnt under weight...

It is just normal coloration. I have two b/w females. One has a tinge of orange and one is super orange with the orange extending up her sides. This is a pretty little lady you have there!
