I hold mine every day, I started holding it the day I got it for a couple minutes a few times a day. The person I got it from handled it daily so it was used to some human contact. I would keep holding it or at least get it used to you being near it, as close as you can get. It's much better to get bitten when its still young and tiny during the taming process than when its an adult lol. I haven't gotten bit yet but my little sav did hiss at me the other day... the little stinker.

Mine will still puff up a little when it first sees my hand going inside the enclosure but once it realizes its me it seems to calm down a little bit. Just try to have some sort of interaction daily, cleaning, changing water, feeding, etc.

I've been feeding mine every other day and that seems to be working. I do a f/t mouse once every other week. Some people do one a week but theres some kind of debate on weather they should be eating rodents to begin with. You could always try getting some gloves to handle it until you're more comfortable. I did that with my tegu when it was smaller, I got them at dollar tree or something. It made me a little less nervous about the possible biting. Depending on the age some savs only get fed like twice a week. Mines about 6 months.

Be careful but keep interacting with it. It will come around the more you hang out with it. I think it is just confused and does not know anything but self defense. Use the gloves for the first few times to get it use to being handled and don't hesitate. The longer you wait the worse it will get.
