Well I went on Craigslist and found a tegu up for adoption. After a few emails we worked out a deal and I went and picked up a male tegu and an enclosure.
I have my work cut out for me. ha.
The Gu (male)is about 40" inches and seems to be in good health. as far as I know I am the 3rd owner. The cage is the problem.
6x3 but the door is hardware cloth. So humidity and temp are problems. I am figuring a way to remedy that situation....you know a little bondo and duct tape and paint should be it. kidding.
He doesn't seem to have any UVB. He was indoors so heat at his old place prob wasn't bad.
I gave him a rough set up and left him alone.
The old owner fed him in his cage so he is food aggressive, I will try and fix that too. I was thinking of putting him in Blenders cage ad then getting Blender a cage more to his size.
Eventually I will build an outdoor enclosure per Bobby's design with a few upgrades aka....hot tub, Blu ray and plasma, and small animal planet pay per view.
I don't have a name for him yet, although Rucker is one I am playing around with.
Oh yeah, the cage is chip board unsealed with no moisture damage. Previous owner had him for 6 months and he was around year and a half then.
