I just got a new argentine B&W tegu and I fed about 8 hours after he had arrived. I let him get used to his new home first. So anyway I fed him 2 week crickets (Pretty tiny i use them for my baby beardies) I am going to go get him bigger ones today but i was just wondering if it was normal for him to eat as many as he did. I believe he ate around 30. Is that alot or just right?

BTW the pictures are before I fed him

For a minute there, I thought this thread was a joke or was at least hoping it was :-D because of your avatar. I had to read it again and check the info  .

Congrats on the new Gu and welcome to the site,...Did you just buy Zaltys from Beasty? I'm at work right now so I can't see the pics just the avatar  idk why.

As for the crickets they're very little and not much of a meal, more of a snack (or like a bunch of tic tacs) for a Gu that size. So,..yeah they can and will eat quite a lot. I'm surprised he was even interested, my Gu wouldn't give crickets the time of day at that age unless they were mixed in with his turkey or something.

Oh my,..never mind, thats not Zaltys  but that baby definitely is skinny. Feed it as much as it wants when ever it wants for now. I know the pics were taken before you fed it,.. so do you have or have you taken anymore pics?

Maybe you should try focusing on crickets, worms, ground turkey for now, with the proper supplements. Also you might wanna round up a fecal sample and have it checked that way you can know 100% your lil guy is nice and healthy while you fatten him up.
