Ok so I got a new male black and white a week ago. At first he was pretty docile now as days go on he is becoming more and more aggressive. At first I could pet him and even hold him a little. Then he started hissing at me but could still pet him then today he is hissing and trying to bite. He is maybe 18" in length, he is in a 4x4x3 enclosure the temp on low side is 78 and high side 90 to 100 the humidity it 70 percent oh he is also spending a lot of time under the bedding which is cedar mulch and coconut husk mixed.

Well, looks likes an argie. Ought to tame down. Provide a solid snug hide box at the cool end. Provides security necessary to be trusting. Begin a routine with him. Pet for a while before begin lifting.

How long do they normally take to settle down any clue why he would get more aggressive. He has a hide box that's the other problem he is hardly out of it is that normal?

My own are out twice each day kuke clockwork- midnorning for two hrs, than mid afternoon for 1-1.5 hrs. A change of circumstances throws thwm off some. Could be yours was docile until it began to need ro readjust to new settings. My guess. Feed from tongs. But don't lift him yet even though earlier it was ok. Also, when you begin to lift never from above, always from sides and belly.

If hide box has no bottom, then you can lift box off atcaome time to feed him with tongs. Fir short term, let hfeed from a bowl. Then augment with toncgs. Needs to getused to new routine/environment.

Ok so I have now had him for a month he seems to be getting calmer but still hisses and doesn't want to be held if I go to pick him up he almost always tries to run. He also has never tried to bite me just seems not to want me around. I spend a lot of time with him I probably pet him 10 times a day for about 5min each time. Seems to have grown about 3 inches. After I feed him he seems to sleep for a full day or two is this normal? Thanks for all the help.
