New tegu! One question on feeding.

Hi there!

I just picked up my first baby tegu today. He/she is adjusting to the new enclosure and seems healthy as can be.

I know everything I have read says that eggs are a good part of their diet. I'm assuming this means chicken eggs. But I was wondering.. would gecko eggs be ok to feed it? I have a small breeding group of crested geckos, and I don't incubate and hatch every single egg that gets laid. Would it be ok to feed him the gecko eggs, whole?

Thanks for any advice! :) And I apologize if a question like this has already been answered, but I tried and tried the search function and found nothing.

sure you could feed gecko eggs, or any other lizard eggs, to your Tegu. Off hand I cannot think of any animals eggs I would steer away from. Also feeding fertilized eggs will be better for your Tegu than feeding unfertilized eggs.

Well, Thorn got to gobble up her first couple gecko eggs today, and she loooooooved them :) She even lapped up the the entire puddle of yolk that she drooled out as she was eating them. So she had a nice egg breakfast before I pick up some crickets for her later on today.
