Hi! My name is Miles and I just got my first Tegu from undergroundreptiles yesterday! I have had previous reptiles and decided to get a tegu. I have not decided his name yet but he is a Red Argentine Tegu. Pictures will be up soon.

Thanks! He hasn't come out of his substrate much and isn't really eating. Is this normal since he is still getting used to his new home?

Normal to hide out and not eat for around one week when you get them. Settling in to new placecand routine. With winter, they also slow down to one extent or another.

Welcome Miles and congrats on the new Tegu... He will start coming out soon enough for ya... just be patient. As walter said the winter months will keep him sleeping much more than normal so dont get worried if you dont see him for some time...
