I made a huge mistake, and now I think I'm stuck with it for a little while because I just switched Ruby over, and then realized the tank was all wrong for her. I don't want to stress her out any more than I have by switching her back right away.[attachment=0]

the only this i see "wrong" is what looks like a cloth almost touching the basking light. That could be a fire hazzard. you can change the cage around if you want, Its not nearly as stressfull as things like getting picked up, temps too hot/cold, no hide , other reptiles in the cage ect.I wouldnt worry about it. If you change the cage just leave your gu alone for a few days.

I think my worry is that it is a high not a wide, so I am always above her and coming in from above her. I do let my hand there for a bit before I try to get her so I'm hopeful this is helping.

Most people keep new (smaller) tegus in aquariums which causes them to reach down toward the tegu. Just keep your movements slow and deliberate, rather than fast and sudden and im sure your tegu will get used to you.
