These are some of my favorite lizards. Theres a good variety of night lizards and they all are cool. I wish there were more imports and keepers in the reptile market of these guys. Though, then again its not because they have a low reproductive rate. Just decided I should share. These are Xantusia v. vigilis. Adults are like 1.6 inch nose to vent. They remind mini monitors lol.

WOW those are really cool! I gotta look into getting them. Because you are right, they do look like mini monitors...

Pretty cute lizards whats their common name called? They kinda look like a cross between a monitor and a skink.

They are real plants from home depots 99 cent plant selection lol. Washed them pretty good. Used coco-fiber as the substrate even though I usually really do not use or suggest using coco-fiber as a single substrate, they just chill in the plant. I picked that plant because its the closest thing to the type of plant they live on in the wild and the corkbark for fallen debris they often occupy. Great little guys, I want to get every species lol.

They actually seem quite intelligent and aware of their surroundings. If theres a flaw in the cage they will find it within the day. Tempermant wise they are alright, more scared to move than anything else when you hold them. They really really appreciate not being seen. After a while they do get use to you and love to see the cricket bags headed their way lol.

Hmm, they sound almost kinda like a domestiated southern alligator lizard, but a bit more shy.
