Hey everyone. My name is Josh, and for various reasons I'm probably at least two years away from getting a tegu. I want one, but I joined up so that I can learn from experienced keepers and make sure I'm 100% committed and prepared before jumping in. I looked around a bit at a few different forums, but I felt like this one had the most helpful members and administrators that I had seen. My current collection consists of two columbian boas, a male pastel hypo named Gatsby, and an albino female named Daisy. I also have a dumerils boa (Dexter), and two female cornsnakes, Sophie and Sunny. My older son has a ball python, William Snakespeare; my younger son and wife each have a beardie, Aaron Rodgers and Monty, respectively.
Right now I kind of like the reds, and the black and whites, in that order of preference, but like I said, I want to learn all that I can before making any decisions. So, for starters, can anyone recommend a good book or at least a reputable care sheet? I've been hitting all the You Tube videos I can find, but I'm a reader, and I'd prefer something written by a reputable expert. Thanks!!

. My advice would be to continue reading since some things are the same, but we all do things differently experts or not and some tegus prefer different things no matter what the care sheets or someone else says. There's only so much reading and prepping you can do, others you just have to wait, try out and see what your tegu prefers when you get it.
