Normal potty behavior??

Every time before Odin goes to the bathroom he does what I call the 'potty dance' where he lifts the base of his tail and wiggles his butt back and forth. It's quite silly looking. Is this normal? He seems to be going just fine, I've just never heard of it and was curious if anyone else's tegus do this?

Kodo arches the base of his tail similar to how you're describing only sans the butt wiggling, so I reckon it's normal. As long as he's pooping and it's normal, why worry?

Zilla does the same exact thing, Im pretty sure its completely normal.

Definitely very normal. All mine do a very similar dance.

Lol yep, normal and something to look out for when they're some where you don't want them to pee or poop.

They Freeze, get their footing, wiggle, then let it go especially if it's a heavy load. Sometimes not so much with a light one.

Oh yes! It came in handy when he was about to go in my room. I saw the wiggling and was able to stuff a paper towel under his butt before he went and managed to save the carpet lol. Unfortunately when I saw the potty dance today I was too far to do anything about it time. Good thing I have brown carpet!
