is any one else watching this stupid show on animal planet? its a 2 hour special on AP called killer aliens. senator bill nelson (the same guy who was trying to push hr669) was on thair saying the "killer python" problem in Florida is a threat to the whole world and that the burmese python population in florida is in the tens of thousands. wtf? id like to reference an image provided by cornking on his cnn post

the show is totally insane i couldn't even watch the whole thing. youd have to see it in order to be as shocked as me. bill nelson was saying that the killer python problem is out of control and something must be done

ugh, the label of "killer python" is pretty ridiculous, if he used it in the context of them being dangerous to humans. :doh

Is that number for their florida population accurate though? Scary.

i really dont believe the number is accurate. there have been only a cuple of hundred sightings of burms in Florida so you would think if their where tens of thousands there would be thousands of sightings

Again there are lots of liberties taken, b/c whoever produces the program has an agenda. The funny thing was the innacuracy. Every species of varanid pictured was referred to as a nile. Tegus were said to be in the monitor family. Nile monitors were called "real life versions of the mighty godzilla". It was intended to scare the bejeezus out of people.
