IMO way over priced. Keep an eye out on fauna and kingsnake. I got my blue/red on off of fauna/facebook. Some reptile breeders have facebook pages and sell their herps on there, others even do auctions.

I think bubblz used to have a peach throat.

The hybrid tegus are neat looking but I don't know why some are priced as high as they are. I saw a red/bw on fauna a few months ago and the owner was asking ~200 shipped for it.

Monitors are just as smart, some are even smarter in my opinion. The biggest difference is tegus are handleable, do well with free roaming and handle keeper mistakes better than monitors. Also the majority of monitors are still WC/imports so they don't do as well in captivity.

I don't see a price for the hybrids, what are they asking for them?

Just know Peach Throats or anything from the Indicus family of monitors are going to more than likely leave you with "empty cage syndrome" if set up properly. Meaning you will feel like you have an empty cage because you will rarely see them.

I wouldn't settle for something unless you're really wanting it. I had a savy for a little while and I think s/he was smarter than my tegus. It seemed like it would look me right in the eye sometimes. Monitors are neat but they aren't generally as handle-able as a tegu. How soon are you looking for a tegu? You just missed most if not all of the hatchlings for the n. hemisphere. Theres nothing wrong with being picky. Who knows there might be a few hatchlings/juvies popping up in the next few months, unfortunately there are always people who realize a tegu isn't something they were ready for.

yea i wanted a bw first then i caught a glimps of the "Peach" tegu and fell in love lol and i was goin to put a deposite down on one of bobby's bw or aa i havent decided completely (mainly wanna see a adult AA before i decide) but i like how the redXbw cross looked awesome but i realize not all of them would be peach colored (not a real fan of the reds idk they just dont look that great to me) and James the Peach Monitor i realize that ive been doing research on monitors and tegus for about 2 years now getting ready to get them i dont ever jump into a pet the peach and argus seem the most interesting to me (i love how they argus stand on their hind legs lol) but i realize most of them dont tame down that well and are considered Hyperactive to say the least who knows maybe ill wait and rescue a baby that some one didnt realize would be what they are

If you want a monitor that you will actually get to see, get an Argus. From what I hear they are one of the most interesting monitors to keep. They need alot of space though.

Here is my yearling AA...

i cant see the dang pic (im at work lol) yea the description i keep finding on Argus monitors is "velociraptor on 4 legs" but from what ive read says they should be easy to tame down (still leading for the tegu tho i just seem to like those more but i have been thinking about this for 2 years its jsut gettin down to were i need to build the cage for what ever i decide i have the room and funds its just a matter of what i want)
