Not quite sure this is the correct forum for this..

I have a cage/tank that will be used for small non-plant eating lizards. I have it planted up nicely, but of the plants died (never had much luck with prayer plants :(), and I want to replace it.

I have a nice fern thing that I have had for a while, but several months ago (can't remember exactly when, but it's been at 2+), I put some systemic insecticide on it. This is the granular form, and the package says it works up to 8 weeks after application.

My question is, do you think it is safe to use these in the enclosure? My worry is that the insecticide will still be in the plants and the crickets will eat the plants and the lizards will eat the crickets and well.. die. Do you think that after 8 weeks the danger is gone? I have been trying to find another like it in the stores, but haven't yet.

Imidacloprid is fairly low toxicity if you have been watering the plant and it has been growing, and the chemical was applied well over 3 months ago you should be fine.
