Possible sickness

My Tegu which is still young has been breathing hard when i try to get her out but i feel like its not a i gotta get away hard breath. she gives this almost pushed sneezed sound as if she is trying to clear her lungs. I have bumped the heat up a little to see if she needs more heat to help but should i have her checked out?

Just my opinion but if it were mine I would take it just to be on the safe side. It's better to catch something early then to wait.

We don't hesitate to bring our Gu to the vet, but just to play devil's advocate; Sure your Gu isn't voicing displeasure over being messed with? If I wake my Gu up from slumber he gets grumpy and does the puff sound.

ok i might go get her checked just to have her checked and maybe sexed by someone that could do it better then me

My tegu does the little pushed out puff as well sometimes, I'm pretty sure it is just a sign of being displeased, even though he wont seem angry at all. Usually does it when i pick him up from the ground to be put in the bath, or if I have to pull him out of the enclosure when he doesnt want to be. I just had him checked by the vet and everything was fine. I'd still take her in like everyone else said, just to be safe.

How old is your Tegu ? Put her nose next to your ear and see if you can hear andy poping noises. If you do it could be a upper respiratory infection. Or does it sound like a huffing and puffing ? But it wouldn't hurt to get your Tegu checked by a reptile vet.
