Since we now only have two lizards left we have a little space for a new terrarium. I have never had a real rainforest terrarium and are very interested in making one. I was thinking of a group of small anoles (less than 30 cm / 1 feet).

The one that really caught my interest is the Puerto Rican Crested Anole (Anolis cristatellus). <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Puerto_Rican_Crested_Anole#See_also" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Puerto_Ric ... e#See_also</a><!-- m -->

But I don't seem to find any decent information about how to take care of them. Does anyone have any experience of this anole? Do you have any good care sheet? Any book to recommend?

All I could find was that their care was very similar to the common green anole. And it that chase it would be easy because there are tons of information about them. I read it on this page but I don't know how reliable it is.

I really like these little guys. And my local reptileshop can probably get them for me. But I need information so that I can take good care of them. Other vice I think it's better to get a more common Anole.

Well, since no-one else has replied yet.

(and i know it may not be an answer to your question, men nÃ?Æ?Ã?¤stan. det Ã?Æ?Ã?¤r ju Ã?Æ?Ã?¤ndÃ?Æ?Ã?Â¥ anolisar)

We had a bunch of green anoles 10 years back, and I think i will get a gang further on. They were great! We had one big male and 3 females in a big corner-tank by the tv. they were always jumping around and nodding their heads at each other.

The only cons i can think of is:
1: they poop everywhere, so your tank may not look as nice as you would like it to (tho, personally, I dont really care. The plants change leaves anyways)
2: They are so small that when you DO need to handle them, it can be pretty stressful. tho i hand fed mine, so they were pretty used to at least interact some with people).

So I think it sounds like a nice pet to get, assuming they behave at least a little like the green anoles do.

(I still have plans for a big tank of my own with one colony of green anoles and one colony of brown. But that is way off in the future.)
