Puppy Pads

Since I brought Kodo to live with me full time, I've been using puppy pads to prevent him from defecating on my carpet. I don't know why I didn't think of using them sooner. They make cleaning up tegu mess SOOOOOOO much easier. I highly recommend investing in some if you're worried about your tegus pooping in the house.

That is if your tegu decides to go on them. Your lucky kodo will. I'll have to experiment later and see if Odin will.

Kodo is not potty trained in the least; he typically poops right after eating. I use the puppy pad as a tarp/placemat. When he tries to walk off, I pick him up and put him back on until he goes. I don't know if he'll learn to directly associate the pad with relieving himself, but it beats getting tegu stains on my rug lol.

Haha. I guess that works too. Maybe you can get to associate the pads with potty. That would be wonderful. Odin is gettin into a potty routine I don't so much care for, poop once in the morning in his enclosure and then pee in the afternoon at some point, and it is usually when he is out of his enclosure :p

So.. I guess I could say Sobek is somewhat if at all potty trained. He doesn't defecate in his enclosure or while being held, but will drop a deuce within a few minutes of me putting him down to free roam. I've learned to put him in my bathroom a the start, so that way it's an easy cleanup.
