iv been looking for inside mounting reptile heaters for a while and wow...EXPENSIVE..but check this out at wally world i found a small space heater with a digital thermostate that will keep a 80 degree temp. this thing is awsome for me because in my garage it gets in the 40s at night, but with this wall mounting heater inside my enclosure i put the thermostate at 75 degrees and it keeps the whole enclosure within a few degrees..awsome product and tons of saftey features on it. if you have a large enclosure and are looking for a wall mounting digital thermostate space heater this is it for only 22 bucks it will heat from 60-80 degrees.

A pic would help. It sounds like the one we use in our bedroom.

Is it securely mounted to the enclosure? If the Tegu was to knock it down into the substrate, the substrate could get into it and cause a fire.

I didn't know it ever got down in the 40's in San Diego?

good mounting bracket it came with and two screws on the side of the unit. even if i wanted to take it down i would have to remove at least one screw then turn the unit completly sideways and pull out to get the unit down. i live in north east san diego so it gets cold but usually 50-60 at night.
