sad news

very depressing night for me last night.i was taking the humidifier to refill it and i noticed my b/w under a rock in the substrate.at first i didn't think much but after i was done filling it i look inside and pick blizzard up and he wasn't moving,i hoped he was asleep but after moving him/her more i came to the conclusion that it was dead..... :bawl i found out that he dug under the rock used to bask and got crushed..needles to say i was up all night being a baby and wishing i wouldn't have left it unburied in the cage or that i didn't have to go to collage yesterday.so the tegu that took me all that hard work and energy trying to find and buy dies because my dumb ass left a rock above the substrate. :bang :bang :bang

How big was the rock? I figure, if the rock is big enough to have crushed him, then it's also big enough to have been supported by the surrounding substrate. Unless, of course, you plopped the rock on him when he wasn't burrowed. But I don't see that happening.

Either way, I'm sorry for your loss.. seems to be happening a lot.

it was a big sized one not hugh but i guess it was big enough ti kill him.=/ he just dug underneath of it.it was resting on the water bowl.

yeah if you have anything that might potentially crush ur tegu i would put it on the bottom so they cant dig under it.
