Schedule change

For the past year, my schedule has been very flexible, and I'm able to get my tegu out whenever he wakes up, which is usually sometime between 11a and 1p. My new baby doesn't really have a set schedule yet, but seems to be getting up about the same time as the other.

The problem is, if I'm not home when they awake, or if I have to leave at the time they're up, I don't get to see or feed them. I don't feed them in their cages. I never wake them up or get them out of their hides. Any suggestions?

toby_h has his timers set so the lights come on mid day and go off in the middle of the night. you can gradually change the on/off times to better fit your sched. my tegu lights are on 11am to 12am

My Tegu spends the summer months outdoors so the sun dictates his schedule...

But in the winter months I am in control... I set the light's timers match my schedule. The lights come on around 3~4pm and I get home from work around 8pm. Then he goes to bed around 12~1am when I go to bed.

*Edit/Add - ^now that timing is just funny...

having changed my Tegus lighting schedule several times... I've found the best way to change the schedule is to just throw them into the new schedule. I try to move them while they are sleeping so that they just have an extra long night.

I will try to change the lighting then; I do have them on timers--is it that easy just to change their schedules like that? It is ok if they go to bed that late? They are close enough to the windows, though, that when I open the blinds light comes in even if their lights aren't on yet.

As it is not at all necessary to change the schedule but it is required for a change, well, is it that simple to modify their schedules like that? It is ok in the event that they go to bed that late? They are close to the windows, though, that when I open the blinds light comes in even if their lights are not on yet.
