Searching for a tegu - Need Help!

Hi there! I'm quite new here, and decided to join the site because I'm eager to learn more about tegus, and am hoping to own one soon!
I have been looking for a tegu for about two months now. I was wondering if anyone had any tips on where to get one from? If I can't find one anytime soon, I might just end up going to one of the reptile shows over in Tampa, at the end of October, hoping to find one there. I'd like just a b/w argentine tegu. Can someone give me some tips on where I can find a hatchling please? If anyone knows of someone with left over hatchlings let me know! I also wouldn't mind any first time owner tips either! Thanks so much for the help!

A few people on here are a good source; the site admin Laurafl is a very good shout; you'll see a few threads with her tegus and they're absolutely beautiful.
Just make sure you're 100% ready to take on the responsibility of a tegu; keeping in mind space for a creature that'll need a home in the 8' range and that will live for many wonderful years.

I bought my baby blue tegu from a Ty park, google Ty's lizards and his Facebook will pop up. He was great to deal with and despite a mixup about shipping he was very understanding.

I would second Ty Park as a source as well. That is where I got my red Tegu as well. Not sure if I can give his e-mail here but I will pm you.

I just got mine from Laura today. Decided I wanted to buy one on Sunday, paid yesterday, got it today. No complaints what so ever. He was very calm out of the box, and settled right in to his cage.

But I think she only had one left. Could be wrong.
