Is it ok to help you tegu "shed" out of its skin?? I usually take off all the old skin after it starts hanging under his belly and up around his front arms. I hope I'm not harming him in any way. Also the skin only comes off up to his tail. I've noticed his tail always sheds later then his body, is this normal??

Helping herps with shedding is perfectly fine as long as it comes off "smoothly". I like to let my herps shed on thier own, not beause its bad to help them shed, but because I want them to learn how to do it on thier own without helping them. Im not going to be with them 24/7.

its fine to help them take off some skin once its clearly coming off already just don't ever try to pressure it off cause it will hurt your herp...just make sure your keeping them on a good diet and maintaining humidity and everything will be just fine...
