Hey guys I was just wondering if you guys had any tips on how to get old skin off a tegu. I have a male who is about a year old and he has skin that is stuck on the very end of his tail. I've been soaking him for a half hour to an hour in luke warm water everyday. After his bath i gentle rub the part of his tail with the old shed stuck on it. This technique isnt working too well and I need to get it off soon because hes shedding frequently and i dont want him to lose that part of his tail. any suggestions would be much appreciated.

I would strongly strongly strongly recommend COD Liver oil, start using it asap...1tb spoon once a week on almost any kind of food, pref ground turkey if your tegu eats it. I do it on rats as well, Ill put one tb spoon in a bag with a rat and shake it up so the fur soaks it up...any way works, just get the oil in the tegu once a week. The shed will come off within 2-3 days max...works like a charm. Also can loosen up the tegu, helps prevent or cure impactions.
