His sheds are getting better the humidity has stayed right around 50-70%, its just his toes are the main problem he/I cant get the shed off of his toes, any ideas on how I can get them off without hurting him?
A Good soak in a warm bath,.. then add enough water for it to swim in for a bit. The water softens and loosens the dried shed to make it easier to pull off. Besides exercise,.. swimming also helps loosen and remove sheds.
I always helped my tegus when they shed not only to prevent retained pieces and loss of circulation to their extremities. But for bonding purposes and getting them use to be touched every where as well.
Even with my Colombian,.. they hate being touched around the base of their tail. But over time she got use to it and it didn't bother her as much. Or cause the same reaction it use to. Which was her getting all huffy and puffy trying to bite and or tail whip.
Well so far all of his sheds are very good except his toes and noticed he has actually has lost some and from the looks of it he may loose a few more and it donâ??t look the thereâ??s much I can do about them just keep the rest from getting that bad. I feel so bad about it, I really wished I would have took a little more care of him when I first got him
