Some advice neede on my Tegu

Hi all ,my Tegu is about 5 years old and has suddenly taken to sleeping virtually all day except for the odd basking session ,and also has gone of his food. He pooed yesterday ,but only when I gave him a warm bath, poo seemed fine large blob of white urine and then the poo, but there was atiny piece of substrate in it, and Iam worried in case he has impaction. I have never had any problems before, he could be hibernating but he has never done this before .I use cypress mulch as substrate ,and the last time he ate was about 4 days ago ,and he had a banana which I only give him once evry 4-5 weeks ,but he does love it. Iam a bit worried in case there is a problem.

Sounds like the instinct to hibernate has kicked in..l

Hi many thanks Iam hoping thats all it is . Its just he has never done it before ,not like this . I will keep an eye ,but not disturb him .

Hi many thanks for your help, when should I feed him again ,he does wake up to bask about three times a day,while basking today I offerd him a small rat ,but he would not take it.And just continued basking. When he pooed yesterday it was not a huge poo, but seemed normal in consistency, with just one very small piece of substrate. Best wishes Charlie
