How many does yours have? So far I've seen between 6-8 black or red and white, odd or even,... like 7 white rings and 6 black. Not the whole tail just the solid rings towards the end. It varies for each and can start around the last 1/2 or 1/3 of the tail. The ideas is to start with the first white ring where the pattern stops breaking up.

What would be Natsukis first solid ring is pretty long and has a black spot in the middle of it so I skipped it since it's still broken up. He's also missing about 3 or 4 in. Only count the solid white rings not the ones above where the pattern brakes them up.

For Korbens tail there's a broken ring that looks like an arrow pointing up between two rings so you would count the rings below that one. So he would have 7 white and 6 black.

Thanks everyone :) I've been doing it for a while but more so since having Natsuki. When I first got him it looked like he was missing maybe a couple inches off the tip but as he grows it looks like more. So the tail ring thing came back up. Also it never regenerated for what ever reason.

There's no way of knowing for sure how much he lost. But counting tail rings is one of my OCD Tegu things along with specific markings and others. Unlike their pattern as they grow the rings towards the end of the tail don't change.

I was looking back at old pics and Dino had a spot in his first tail ring as well which put him at 6 even.
