Tegu Bath and Enclosure tips required

I'm fitting out the enclosure for my new tegu and was wondering what size its bath should be.

He is getting his own room ply-lined and sealed. The area is going to be a L-shape that's 8ft x 9ft and open top so there is plenty of room for a bath I think. I have run a hot and cold water supply into the room that's ready to plumb in as soon as I sort out the bath. Bath tap with shower head are all ready to go in.

Any tips or suggestions regarding the bath or the enclosure in general will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

I suggest keeping it a a good bit above the substrate. I dont know about yours, but mines ADORES kicking substrate into the water dish. With tubs that size its probably a good idea to have a way to drain it without dragging it each time as well.

Thanks for the reply. Mine does as well. Everyday it's filled with substrate.

I am going to connect a waste pipe into the foul drain, turning it into a bath kind of. It's all a little difficult to explain but I'll post photos when it's done.

Any hints or tips are welcome.
