hey there, im looking to help a friend out who has a tegu but can no longer care for it due to a change in work, he wants someone who he knows to have the reptile so he can stay in contact with it and this is where i come in. The tegu is currently about 3 feet long and my question is currently i can only have a viv that is 5 foot long 2.5 wide but can go 4 foot high so would it be possible to house him in this for around 6/8 months until i get my other room sorted where i can build him a new enclosure, if so i was planing to put in ledges to increase the floor space so he has more room to adventure and he would also be aloud to come and go out of his viv into my bedroom when ever he likes (id make sure there is nothing that can halm him before i got him and my room is always warm)

Thanks in advance for any replys :)

it is pretty short. but in my opinion that should be ok for a couple months but no more than 6 at the most. the ledges would be a good idea just make sure they can support him/her and wide enough for it to be comfortable without being to close to the bulb.
