man i was using the bin since i got her and it was fine at first but because of my work schedule i didnt see her much when she was awake on days i worked so i starting feeding in her tank for no more then 3 days.... i switched back to the bin and she wont eat in there.... i had ground turkey eggs beef liver she just ignores it ... i even tried feeding her on the floor in a open area and still no luck so i put her back in her tank and she immediately devours 5 crickets like theres no tommorow.... all well least shes eating i guess it will take time....

I gave up hope with the feeding bin. My tegu hates it and gos wild in there. So I put paper towls over my substrate and and on a huge plate I feed him. I watch him eat and as soon as he is done I take the turkey out. I know Im not suspose to do this but I just want my guy to eat and be healthy.

she will eat there. how many days have you deprived her of food? my suggestion is this: halt feeding for 1-2 days then try the bin. I had the same problem because of my schedule. but theres always a way. even if you have to skip a feeding once in a while, just feed extra the next day. my gu adjusted , and yours probably will too.

well theres good news.... she finnaly ate in her bin today but it was after replacing the food and on the third time today she gave in ate.... she also ate about 5 crickets in her enclosure.... now for the bad news.... i spoke with bobby a few days ago bout my tegu eating substrate and he says its cause she got turkey juice or something on the pieces so what i did was replace all the cypress mulch with new cypress mulch and spray a little water and vinager on the substrate this was bobbys idea .... she hasnt eaten any that i know of and today she took the biggest poop i ever seen her take but just about a hour ago she was chewing on some substrate again luckily i took it away from her... shes not doing this a lot but when shes hungry shes still doing it....doesnt make sense , im taking all bobbys advice dead on im hoping when she grows older shell wise up and be easier to feed.... def gona post some pics next weekend since that will be a month from the last time everyone posted pics... also im most likely getting a red tegu from bobby as well so my tegu will have a friend for at least 6 months til there too big for my 75 gallon

anthony Glad to hear the progress. Bobby is right on Turkey or juices go on cypress mulch the GU will eat it. I spot clean all the time. and changing the substrate every 2-3 weeks will help. Bobbys Reds are awesome.

I have fed Blender off and on in his enclosure then in his bin. He dont care where he eats but I found out that he eats better when I am out of the room. I did even feed him today. I set my alarm for 4:30am when his powersun comes on, then I get ready and at about 5 I check him to see if he is out if he is then I feed. Today he just stayed underground. He ate real good yesterday though.....5 lrg roaches and some scrambled egg.
