So winter is coming. This is my first winter with tegus and im a bit worried about something. I live in Maryland and it can get pretty cold during the winters. Sometimes we lose power during snow storms.

Anyone have any tips on helping tegus survive a power outage in a cold area? I keep em in a room with a fireplace, but thats about it.

My blues down for the winter asleep under about 12 inches of substrate. He's in the basement and even when temps drop low it stays above 55 down there so I'm good on that front here in Ohio

As long as your room temp stays at a reasonable level,so will the temp inside his viv .... I wouldnt worry too much.... Here in UK its being below freezing on occasion over the past months and Alpha is just as happy as ever.
