due to a real a$$hole of a landlord i am in between homes till Friday my tegu is currently in her enclosure in someones garage i have her heat lamp on and her UV heat lamp on. the temps here in Kentucky are going into the mid 40s here at night mid 50s in the day. this is a closed garage so there are no major drafts. i am seriously concerned about her. do you think she will be OK for a couple more days like this? i can get her indoors Friday afternoon after my house closing then she will never have to endure this ever again.
please do not flame me i feel horrible enough as is
any suggestions on how to toss some more heat into the mix would be appreciated...

I would wrap the enclosure with a blanket and cover any large screen type openings. I bet that would keep the temps up where they should be. Just be sure not to close off all ventilation ( I am sure you wouldn't, just covering my case) so that air exchange can still take place. Cover the bottom with some cloth as well, to keep the cold out.
I don't think you will have anything to worry about if you keep the heat on and get it covered/insulated.

the enclosure has been fitted with plexiglass panels over what was screen. its no airtight enclosure but it does hold in the heat. the enclosure is sitting on 2 large rubbermaid containers so its not directly on the floor. so judging from your advice she should be ok for a couple days like this cuz i would sure hate to see anything happen to her. shes so mellow compared to my juvi Iguana which is in his enclosure on top of her cage. hes a little pissed off but will get over it.

I would think it would be alright. Putting a blanket of sorts around it (away from the light of course) will help to retain temps and , if you are turning off the lights at night, slow the temp. change from warm to cool. Do you have some sort of temp. reading device? if so check the cage temp in the early morning and see what it is, if it is not dropping past say mid sixties I think all will be well. Good luck on the new place!

She should be fine like this for a few more days. In the wild it is pretty cold right now for them anyway. Try to keep as much heat in as possible but I believe she will be just fine.
