Well I have been studying these wonderful creatures for quite a while now and have actually had a female Argentine Black and White for two months now. Her name is "Ariat". I have learned so much mostly from all of you and have to say thank you! I do have a very close friend whom actually introduced me to the whole reptile thing in the first place. I would probably never have even considered it otherwise.
I have always had animals, dogs, one cat, horses, many many cows and other livestock but never a reptile. The dogs, cat and horses are all considered pets all though I do work cows and other livestock with the dogs and horses[attachment=1].
Any way, I have really enjoyed this little creature and enjoyed watching her grow and get more acustomed to me and our family. I had never thought of getting a Tegu from anyone other than "Varn Yard" however, in my quest for knowledge and learning of the needs of these animals, I visited every pet store I could find, reading everything here when I saw a guy advertising his for sale.
I didnt really want someone elses problem child so to speak but still I wanted to experience everything I could, so I went and looked. Then I went and looked again and well.......yes I brought her home. I have nothing bad to say about the gentleman that had her, he simply, I believe, was over his head with to many critters and just did not know what to do with her.
She is wonderful and sweet and we really have a lot of fun with her, watching her check us out.
Thanks to all of you for being such a great inspiration and thanks to the whole "Varn Yard" crew for giving us such a great source of fellowship and information.
If I can figure out how to put pictures on "this here thing" I will but if not maybe I can get someone else to do it for ya.
Thanks again,
E.J.
