I was letting my Tegus roam outside this morning and then I saw tiny in the mulch bed under our butterfly bush, she was eating something. It looked like a big piece of mulch. When I got over there I had to pull this little turtle out of her mouth. She did eat something before I got over there....I hope it wasn't a turtle. If it was another turtle I hope she can digest it, I have already had to go through surgery 2 years ago because of her eating eco-earth and getting impacted.

Aw, what a cute turtle! I hope your tegu is ok, and that she didn't eat his little buddy. :p Did the one you rescued have any damage sustained?

Surprisingly no damage to the little one. The little thing was just bigger than a quarter. I hope that his sibling was not ingested :(

Tegus eat turtles? I would imagine that a turtle would be hard to digest, if not impossible. But I have heard of tegus eating worse things. At least the turtle is ok.
