Trying To Track My Tegu's Background

This is a question aimed at all you tegu breeders out there. Did any of you supply an Argentine black and white to a store called Exotic Life: Fish and Reptiles in Chatsworth, California? If so, I'm the guy who bought him. I'm just trying to figure out just how old Kodo is and any other background info, just for my curiosity. He's doing fabulous and is a wonderful lizard.

Did you try asking the pet store who/where they got him from?

I know the local stores here don't like to say who the breeders are or where they came from. It's lame but I guess it makes sense, they would be out of business if we all went right to the breeder. I have no idea where Guru came from.

I agree with James.

I would ask to speak to the store manager, be very polite, he/she just may have some knowledge of this, really your best bet.

Yeah, I had the same problem. No one would tell me where Link was from. I'm guessing he's TeguTerra stock though. I've never seen an Arg go for $250 anywhere else. That's just a guess though. I'm going to bug House of Reptiles again before I move, tell them that I'm wanting to breed, but in order to breed I need to know where Link is from so I can be sure I'm not inbreeding at all. I'd like to think that a responsible store would provide that information with that at risk. Maybe the OP can use that too if they get a negative response from the store.

That might work!
