    New tegu

Thanks for the input, guys. I was kinda wondering if it could be neurological as well but she seems to get around ok, even if she does curl up and fall over. Maybe it is a defensive thing. I'll just give it a bit to see if she gets used to me and calms down. Keep ya posted...

    New tegu

Hi guys! It's been a while since I've posted anything but I need help. I got a new tegu a couple of days ago from someone that needed to re-home one of theirs. I think they got "her" as a rescue. I'm saying her but I don't know the sex yet and neither did they. This is a B&W Argentine...

can a tegu really respond to its name?

My big Red didn't respond to his "name" exactly but when he was out walking/sleeping/hiding in the house somewhere, I would hiss and he would always hiss back so I could. track him down

    tegu in the news

Why, oh why would the news media/"experts" tell people to kill it if they see it? It's probably someones escaped pet!

    RIP Bacardi

Poor Bacardi - He looked so happy and healthy in your video. How nice that you have that to remember him by. I only have two pictures of my red, Bubbategu-none with me, unfortunately. R.I.P Bacardi

    I am baffled!

I'd make her soak in a nice warm bathtub. It looks painful.

Just FYI, nothing to do with the eye problem but you should change out your bulb about every 6 months or so. I think he probably poked his eye on something. Does it seem to be getting worse?

    Loosing teeth

I haven't tried the ground up rodent thing but I did find a raw cat food that he will eat. It's called HissyFit from Feed This, Inc. It's got grd chicken w/ bone, sardines, chicken heart & liver, sweet potato, egg, kel, alfalf, and water only. (It's kind stinky.) It seems like an ok...

    Loosing teeth

Thanks, Sam. I think you're talking to me? My name is Debbie. I lost my 10 year old red March 18th of this year (His name was Bubbategu) and acquired a rescue Colombian this summer from my friend who ran a reptile rescue out of Sonoma, Ca. Bubba had lost teeth previously. It didn't...

    Loosing teeth

That is so weird!! I was just going to write a post about my rescue Colombian loosing his teeth. I found one the other day on the floor and I wasn't sure where it came from. But I just now found another tooth in his cage! So he's the one that is loosing them. He hasn't been eating well...
