    Grow Tent Enclosure

I've been active on the Facebook groups, but thought posting here would be a good idea for people searching for more info on mylar grow tent enclosures. I bought a grow tent (normally used for plants) and will be placing this one on it's side instead of vertical for space reasons. Plus side of...

I really need some advice on my tegu that i've had for almost a year

Lady does not like being handled similarly to how you guys describe your experiences. She wasn't really ever handled by her previous owner and was just allowed to roam around all day by herself. She is only 3 ft long at 2 years old. Being older I think does make her harder to train since she is...

I really need some advice on my tegu that i've had for almost a year

Both of your experiences are similar to my own with my first Tegu, a 2 year old female I rescued. She wiggles, thrashes, death rolls, scrapes (yes I do look like a cutter on my forearms, they are going to scar that's for sure). Handling her can definitely try my patience and dim my spirits. She...

    Recommended Tegu Harness(s)

For my big male I have been using a cat harness from Petsmart. The ferret one didn't go large enough for his big neck jowls.

Bitey - all he wants to do is eat!

Hm, I know he could eat a bunch more food easily, I have never yet seen him refuse food even when he has eaten pounds of it already! I am worried about obesity if he is left unchecked eating all he wants.

Bitey - all he wants to do is eat!

I rescued a 1 year old male tegu and have had him for a few months. He is very sweet and not shy or fidgety at all. However, he constantly wants to eat and tries to slowly bite feet and legs like he is trying to grab them like a turkey ball when you aren't looking. I'm sure he would bite hands...

    Two Gu's!

After owning reptiles since I was 8 I took in two rescue black and white Argentine tegus. My first is Patches, she came to me as a male, but I soon found out 'he' was a 'she'. She had no name when I got her and was very skittish at 2 years old and 3 feet in length. She has gotten much better and...

Living in an apartment w/tegu or large monitors?

I am moving into a new apartment and was up front that I would have 4 lizards. I described them as caged animals...most landlords are interested in dogs and cats. Lizards don't shed and make no noise so they aren't really on their radar for the most part.

    Rescued Tegu

Here is Patches, my 2 year old rescue I took in in June of 2014. She was rarely handled by her previous owner and was allowed to roam the house on her terms. She is skittish and flighty, but not aggressive. She is MUCH better behaved than she was when I first rescued her a month ago. I couldn't...
