So the kittens have grown more. He still wants them. Thank the gods that they will be leaving soon. He loves his new house. He can roam all 2400 square feet of it and has multiple basking roots in real sunlight. And sorry about the awesome humor. He doesn't care so much about being family...
Or none at all. Since we moved to Arizona I've just been opening the glass and dexter has been basking in the sunshine. He still has a power sun in his enclosure but I'm wanting real sun for him. The move killed my bank account so I can't build his outdoor enclosure yet.
My wife forgot he was out and roaming. She left the bedroom door open. She and her friend came home to see dexter thrashing a kitten about. He crushed its head and was trying to rip it apart for consumption. Lesson learned. Don't forget that the beast is out. I also double gated the stairs in...
Deter has been pretty good since I got him. Started in a 55 gallon and was cohabing witha columbian tegu over three times his size. No issues. Now he is in a 6x4x3 enclosure. never had any stress issues. Even is ok with the cats coming in and out of his house. For the most part his enclosure is...
We are moving in two weeks from the seattle area to phoenix arizona. Im so used to our climate here and am wondering besides his humidty as to what I should be concerned about. I will be building Dexter an outdoor enclosure so he can get real sunshine. But I am concerned about heat and will...
Second time here. I'm staying on the beach north of fort lauderdale. Whole time here has Bennett raining but is warm out. We are moving here. It's perfect. No more.humidity worries. No more heat worries. No more lighting worries. Go outside lizard.
Got tattoos, about to get more. Going to...
Yeah, columbians are way smaller. Tegus growth rate depends on not only a good diet, but the gu itself. I had one. He grew pretty good but nowhere near as fast as my chacoan. Don't be concerned. Food, vitamins, good light and a bigger home.
Not really. Considering that a normal gets 4 feet or more. I think a 6x4' is the minimum. When we buy a house I'm going to build another enclosure for dexter. An 8x4. I'll use his current one for a female blue I'm going to get for breeding.
I'm hoping that's all it is. Nice big house to protect. He was even popping his throat. Not cute. My little girl absolutlly love him. I need him to be more mellow. She loves it when he licks her face.
