Ok.....
You need to provide him UVB and a red bulb will not provide it. Get a reptisun flourescent bulb or a MVB bulb.
What size enclosure do you have it in? Please provide height, width and depth.
How are you checking the temps?
Is the plant real? If so, what kind of plant (some are toxic)...
5 days a week I give him ground turkey, liver, hearts, chicken gizzard, blackberries, grapes, squash and very rarely soft boiled eggs. I would not give him all of it, but the baggies had a mixture of some of the above.
2 days a week he would get ASF Rats (when he was smaller, he would get mice)...
I believe he was going to go into hibernation when I had him in a 20 gallon long. He would be down for a day and come out for food and water. But, I moved him to his new bigger enclosure and he seemed to have been rejuvenated and was active again. I am not sure what got him going again.
Thanks ierowe, you cannot prevent them from doing something they want to do. But to answer your question, no I did not keep him from hibernating.
Some grow quickly, while others take longer.
He is only 10 months old. If you look at my old posts, you will see I purchased him from Bobby's last July clutch.
He never hibernated and he has always been a good eater. Well I guess it is true that you can never determine their age by their size.

Hi Deb, I really suggest you get atleast the ReptiSun 10.0 fluorescent bulb.

One more thing Bella, you should not do the strawberries too often. They are high in Oxalate and Goitrogens.

Hey dragonqueen, I have never owned one, but did a ton of research on them. From what I have gathered they are considered quite docile and non-aggressive. But, like in any species, there are exceptions to the norm.
I do not think it would be fair by anyone here to answer "yes" or "no". You can...
Hey Bella, please keep us updated and try to get him/her outside for some natural sunlight. I do not know your living situation, but do it if it is safe for both you and the Tegu.
Good luck!!
I am sure everything will be fine. Get a UVB bulb and try to get an appointment with a Vet that is familiar with reptiles.
