Here are some new photos of Tybalt! He turned 1 in August, and he's pretty huge lol. There's a comparison pic of when I got him in Sept 2012 and a pic of him recently. So nuts! I just put a deposit down on a Chacoan from Tegu Topia, where I got him.... he's going to have a buddy soon :)

Power strips with digital timers

Don't buy the ones you find at pet stores, they're waaay overpriced. Any of the ones you can find at places like Home Depot have seemed to be good enough for me. Ones that have built in batteries are nice, so when you unplug the power strip for a few seconds, all of your settings aren't lost.

Hemipenes and sperm...

Tybalt, my almost 1 year old b&w Argentine, has kind of grown up as of lately. Whenever he poops, his hemipenes come out and release sperm, as well as when he pees. A whole lot of sperm. I never noticed this before, and well, it's kinda gross having your tegu randomly jizz all over your bed and...

Hahaha, aww... I'm sure he'll catch up! How is he temperament wise? Tybalt is being a royal pain in the butt lately with his food response, so I've been trying to figure out a good balance of how much to feed him so he isn't trying to end my arm's lives anymore :P Other than that, he's a sweetie.

Chasing toes - how has anyone dealt with it?

Your situation sounds almost like mine. My guy was born August 2012 and he's probably two and a half feet now, so this behavior is a little sketchy at this size haha. I find Tybalt has such a stronger food response and basically lunges at the door when I open it up, and will jump at my arms if...
