Does this sound like an injury?!

Quick update: The leg seems to be improving. Still not totally better, but I feel like I can relax a little now.

Does this sound like an injury?!

Thanks for the advice. I think watch and wait is going to be the best course of action for now. Besides avoiding that leg she doesn't seem to feel bad at all and is still eating like a garbage disposal.

Does this sound like an injury?!

I'll keep an eye out for signs of MBD. I got her from a pretty reputable rescue so I don't think that's super likely, but you never know. Assuming it's an injury (I'm strongly thinking that's the issue at this point) does a week sound like a decent amount of time to watch for improvement before...

Does this sound like an injury?!

She hasn't had spinach or raw eggs at all, but I wouldn't think just over a month (that's how long I've had her) should be enough to cause any sort of diet-related neurological problem? She just had a complete shed about two to three weeks ago, so that isn't it. Either way, the nearest vet...

Does this sound like an injury?!

So she seems to be doing better today. Still obviously favoring that leg, but not as much. I've seen my share of reptile injuries before, but I guess it looks a lot more pronounced at her size than with my smaller critters. I guess it's better to overreact and watch them closely with something...

Does this sound like an injury?!

I have had my juvenile (roughly 1 year) female Argentine tegu for about a month now. As of this morning, she is having a lot of difficulty moving her front right leg. Two days ago, she seemed fine. She can walk on it but seems to be avoiding moving, and when she does move the leg, it's shaky. I...

    Custom Enclosure Question

Thanks, I'll totally check them out! My girl (at least I'm pretty sure she's female) is still pretty small, so at least got a good year or longer before she needs a custom enclosure.

    New tegu diet questions

Thanks for the link! I've had mine for just under a week now, and so far the only thing she's shown any interest in is pinkies (I've offered other things, she just wasn't having it). I imagine she'll probably open up to new foods once she gets over being somewhere new.

    Hi All

Thanks for the welcomes you guys :) So far I've been combing through old threads just reading up on stuff, and this seems like a great site.

    Hi All

Well, I probably should've made this post before the ones in other areas. Anyway, I'm Lee, and I've been keeping reptiles for almost 20 years. Started with garter snakes, and only recently have had the means to work with some of the larger animals. Most of my animals are adoptions or disabled...

    New tegu diet questions

I am adopting a juvenile b/w tegu in the next few days, so I've been trying to figure out diet stuff. I have a lot of reptiles, including a ball python, box turtle, and decent-sized common snapping turtle, so there's plenty of food options available, but I have a couple questions. I've seen...

    Custom Enclosure Question

I'm going to be adopting a juvenile b/w tegu in the next few days. I'm told it's currently small enough to be transported in a cat carrier. I have a 90 gallon tank that he'll be in for the time beibg, but want to go ahead and start planning his custom enclosure. But there is one slight catch...
