Check out my thread here: http://tegutalk.com/threads/home-automation-for-your-enclosure.17846/ You will see how I keep my enclosure humid. But I guess if you just spray it it is better to not use sand.

Poops often when I take her out

Hello, Like 1/2 or 1/3 times I take her out and put her in my lap or on the sofa she poops. How do you handle that? Just live with it or do you only take them out when they have already pooped or do you know any signs when they are about to poop? Regards Magnus

    Building a cave

Hello, Thought I would spare people with the same ide as me about 16 hours that I wasted. I had the bright ide to build a wodden cave structure, cover it with concrete and then remove the wodden structure so I would have the perfect cave with a sunspot on the roof. The cave was about 2x2x1...

Just a question about my enclosure for my Black and White Tegu

The government agency for this has some long regulations but for us mere mortals they have on their website a table that says a ground living lizard of size 101-125cm has to have an enclosure of 3m2, if you keep them in a group each lizard must have at least 1m2 each, if they are pregnant they...

Just a question about my enclosure for my Black and White Tegu

Way to small. That is only 2.6x1.5x1.6 foot. They say 8x4x4 is best. In sweden there are regulations that says you have to have 3 square meters of floor space for this type of lizard. Yours is 0.3 square meters so make it 10 times larger.

    Home automation for your enclosure

The raspberry pi is a normal computer just a small one with no screen. It runs the software that controls the devices. The rfxtrx box is a wireless (not wifi) receiver and transmitter that receives the wireless signal from the thermometers and sends the on/off command to the outlets. Regards Magnus
