    FS/Trade M/F pair Columbian TeguÃ?¢ââ??‰â??¢s and Argentine B&W Tegu

Hope you can find a good home for your Columbians. As for your Black and White, they grow like mad so give it a couple months with some good eatin and you'll see weekly growth. My black and white went from a 10" 6 week old to a 30" 6 month old! It is amazing to see how fast they grow once they...

    Please help

Do you notice drool or foamy saliva from the mouth? My first thought would be mouth rot or some kind of infection. Do you suplement calcium as I have seen a softened jaw in cases of MBD. Do you feed live rodents?? Maybe he got bit by one and is now injured?

    New Tegu

If you can get your tegu eating fruit early on then that is great! It has been said that Reds require more fruit for better sheds but some will dissagree but I think everyone will agree that variety is the key and the older the Tegu gets the harder it may be to get him to eat his fruits and...

    tegu :)

hehe......I think it is safe to say you have a pair, 1 male and 1 female! Are you prepared to incubate the eggs? How old are they? You should offer her a place to lay her eggs like a humidity box of sorts. If she ends up laying eggs please be prepared for a very aggressive tegu towards your male...

    Riddle me this...

I agree with the whole scent thing. I have my Tegu on Coconut Husk and he has never tried to eat it but I will see him take an interest and repeadidly flick where he last had a treat. I dont' feed him in his enclosure but when he was younger he had the occational left over pinkie that my other...

    Aloe Vera plant

Here is a link to a list of edible plants that can go into an enclosure. I don't see aloe on there though. <!-- m --><a class="postlink"...

Problems getting my Red to eat :(

The only way I can ever get my little red to eat is with small feeding tongs. While she is basking I slowly offer her foods. So far she will only take chicken hearts from me and one day she did take a pinkie once by just placing it beside the tegu then getting myself out of sight. All this I...

Yes he looks much better then he did in the last couple picutres. They are very interesting looking reptiles. I read up on them a bit before I decided on a Tegu.

    Feeding ?

Hi James I get my chicken gizards and heart at the grocery store. Where I shop they are both in the same meat tray and the tray is only like $2 (probably around 50 hearts and gizards) As for temps most Tegus like their food at room temperature or luke warm. I use a cup of warm water and put my...

Problems getting my Red to eat :(

Hi All, So I got my B&W June 30 and s/he has grown like a weed and is eating us out of house and home. Took about 2-3 weeks to trigger his feeding response but now there is no going back! So about 5 weeks ago I got a little Red that was only an inch or so smaller then my b&w so I went for it...

Help w/ Chuckwalla (UPDATE: new pics and looking better)

Re: Help w/ Chuckwalla (UPDATE: the good and the bad) Thats great that you are seeing improvements with your Chuck! I had a beardie that was a sorry case and was on her way out. She was just a little one and she was at the point of not even being able to hold her head up. She hadnt touched food...

    his first mouse ever!!!

Yeah I agree with e.j, if you got a Tegu that preferes pre killed mice then why change that. You can have some serious issues down the road if you encourage him to have to kill his prey. Not only that, right now it is a mouse but when he gets bigger so will the prey and they can fight back...

    No cypress mulch

I use coconut husk. Seems to work well, holds moisture well, and has yet to show any signs of mold. I get mine from a local reptile store, it is a large brick. I use roughly 1/8 of the bale to fill my 4x2x2' enclosure with about 6-12" of substrate and it costs me about $30. I am in Canada but I...
