I would like to know the same thing. i have almost a year old tegu and he dosnt look to be as big as some of the ones ive seen in pics. How big should they be at a year
Well tried a boiled egg (even though the smell kills me) and he is eating it like a champ. More than I can say for the meat I have been feeding him. Dont think hes big enough for a pinkie yet. He still fits well in a 20 long, not even but a couple months old.
My tegu seams to only want to eat ground meat or meat cut in strips. He wont go after and crickets or roaches. Any Ideas on how to get him to eat other stuff, Also he wont eat out of a dish. I have to feed with tongs for him to eat.

Hello all, I have just learned about tegus. I have kept snakes and tortoises for quite some time now, and i recently got a bearded dragon but now i want a tegu. What is the advice for making a out door enclosure for my new friend, that would keep him/her happy and safe from my large dogs.
