Glad you came to her rescue! I am excited to see how she improves under your care. It definitely amazes me what people do with their pets. Not sure what the old owner was thinking putting her in a 20 gallon tank. Poor thing
This being our first tegu we have been pleasantly surprised at how quickly she has warmed up to us and continued to develop a bond. She is an adult and was cared for well before us but I don't think she got much hands on time previously.
We have only had our female a few weeks. We spend about the same amount of time with Chili. She has become more and more friendly each passing week. Hope this helps. :)

we want to get another tegu but the old owner of the one we have now (Chili) is saying Chili will freak out if we get another. She says she will be crabby for days. Is this just common when getting two tegus? What concerns should I look at when getting a second tegu? How should we introduce them...
We are offering food to our female adult every other day. We can easily offer this often as she is not by any means overweight. She decides how much she wants and stops/turns away when she is done.
