I had a guy tell me that when tegus get to about 16 months they tend to get a little crabby and start to act out a little. I was wondering how true that was or if it was just his tegu.
The only time any off my four adult Tegus acted up a bit was when they were very hungry or they were shedding.Other than that I never had any problems with them.
I can't recall ever owning a lizard of any species that didn't go through a phase upon reaching sexual maturity where they acted a little feisty. Some guys it's just a little, barely noticable edgyness, some guys it's pure stomp about destruction. All of my females went through a stage where they got a little sulky, but not as feisty as the males.
