Afternoon feeding question.

Hey guys,

Just wondering - do you usually feed your tegu when there's at least 2 hours of lighting/heat in your cage? I know a lot of other reptiles need some heat for a couple hours after eating to aide in digestion, but is it the same for tegus? What's the ideal timing for that kinda thing? I can't seem to find the info anywhere, and since I know a lot of owners feed their 'gus 2x daily, I was just curious because my dude is super hungry in the afternoon and even tried biting me today like I was a deliiicious mouse. Thanks in advance for any help!

I have 8am-8pm, maybe I should make it later so I can feed him without having to worry about it being too late when I get home after work. Thanks!

I only feed once per day. I feed around noon-ish for the babies and late afternoon for everyone else. I try to feed earlier, but my schedule has been different lately. Ideally, they would feed early enough in the day to digest, just like other cold-blooded animals.
