Baby T (rescue tegu)

I've kept and fostered many reptiles, but Baby T is the first tegu I've cared for. T came to the reptile rescue I foster for when a kind-hearted woman took him from a young man who was keeping him/her in a garage with basically no care. She decided T's rehab was a bit more than she could handle and turned him over to us. T was a bit of a mess (lots of stuck shed, necrotic toes, dry tail, etc) but with a round of antibiotics and a lot of TLC, T is coming along nicely. T lost several toes and still might lose his tail tip, and I'm not sure he'll ever have a "normal" shed with his mangled toes, but he now looks shiny and is growing like a weed! I've heard so much about the nasty temperament of the Columbian, but even with my toe picking and medicating, T is proving that stereotype wrong. T is supposed to be a temporary foster, but I must admit that I have become quite smitten!
