Baby tegu feeding question

I am a new tegu owner...My little one is about 2 - 2 1/2 months old. I feed him ground turkey, hard boiled egss and a small variety of fruits. At this age should he only be offered meats? or is it ok to mix up the diet a little? He likes most things I offer him.
One more ?...Is it normal for him to sleep alot throughout the day, and wake up occasionally to bask and eat? And how much should he be eating? I welcome any and all feedback...Thanks

As for the tegu, he needs to have meats, he also needs rodents at this age at least once a week.
