So i thought i was being nice to Bacardi and buying him some live crawfish. He loves the crawfish meat i buy him, but the live ones he wanted nothing to do with. Today i noticed he was sitting at the edge of his pool really wanting to go in, but wasn't. Poor little guy was scared of the crawfish! So i removed them and placed them in a bucket. Now Bosco loves crawfish and say them in the bucket and was trying to claw at the glass to get to them. So rather then let them go to waste Bosco had a nice little treat today. The first two where much larger and tried to fight back but Bosco is an expert at this and made short work of them, the third one wasn't much work at all.

So here is a short video of the last of the crawfish.

That's a cool video. An even cooler tegu though! Does their poop smell worse with the crayfish than something like turkey?

Awesome video ;) can you feed Tegus live shrimp, like from the bait store? I used to feed my last tegu nightcrawlers and he loved them so much! But i haven't seen anything on giving them nightcrawlers? Is that ok to do?

One of the things I so.. missed not having a tegu for is wasted food. When the snakes sometimes refused food my tegus didn't and would happily take it.

I have given my tegus nightcrawlers they eat them up like spigettie. I havent rescently because our tackle shop only carries the nirto (glowing green), the red rockets (died red with coloring) or the garlic scented ones. None of which i would like to feed to my tegu. I have given him shrimp before and he liked them, but he really chows down on the crawfish.

Ya my little tegu sometimes won't finish everything and the caiman lizard can be overly picky. I just put everything in Bosco's bowl and it never goes to waste!
