A heads up, especially to those of you who are new here....there are scammers here and other places on the Internet in this industry! Tegu hatchlings are only available July-September, unless their imported. Do your homework, know the prices and species...only purchase through a reputable site or using PayPal! Be careful, and remember a tegu is a 20 year commitment..so do it right!

I have seen people recently claim they are selling hundreds of Blues in February....report them to tegu talk if you see something shady please!!!!

Thank you for the heads-up. I would like to add to this warning- unscrupulous breeders who mass-produce and sell EVERYTHING, meaning animals that have no business being sold. Think puppymill. Also be careful of the Columbian Tegu (Goldens and Black and White), Tupinambis teguixin, being sold as an Argentine Black and White Tegu. Sometimes accidentally, sometimes not. They're a fine lizard but not if that's not what you wanted.

Wow, this is great information.. But I do know the offspring months but I was thinking people were selling their personal tegu.. But I agree, people should know the difference in tegus before buying from anybody. But everything is a learning process and that where research come in before their is hands on experience..

Brock, I agree that people should know difference among species, but in fairness, people can also be duped, confused.
